Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a healthcare system which has evolved over the last 3000 years and today is based on the late 20th century standardisation of medical practices which originated in China thousands of years ago.
The concept of TCM is that conditions of disease or disorder are not seen in isolation. Instead they are seen as an outer manifestation of an imbalance in a person’s health. As such, TCM treats the whole balance of a person’s health rather than the symptom alone or viewing the symptom independently of the person.
