Ranelagh Clinic Opening & Closing Hours

Monday: 10:30a.m. – 7:30p.m.
Tuesday: 10:30a.m. – 6:00p.m.
Thursday: 10:30a.m. – 6:00p.m.
Friday: 10:30a.m. – 5:00p.m.

Saturday and Sunday: IVF transfers only.

Athlone Clinic Opening & Closing Hours

Wednesdays: 10:30 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Please give 24 hours notice if you need to cancel to avoid €45 cancellation fee. Full fee applies if notice given less than 4 hours of treatment time.

Fees

AcuWell treatments are recognised by all the major health insurers in Ireland because practitioner Maria Maher is registered with the Acupuncture Council of Ireland (A.C.I.) and the IRCMH for Chinese herbs. The Health Insurers include VHI, Laya Healthcare, Aviva and HSF. Other health insurance schemes also cover acupuncture such as the Garda Medical Scheme and ESB. Please check with your health insurer if your individual policy covers you for acupuncture.

Acupuncture

An initial treatment, which includes a consultation, lasts approx. 1 hour and costs €75 in AcuWell Clinic in Ranelagh and €70 in AcuWell Clinic in Athlone.  A follow-up acupuncture treatment lasts approx. 45 minutes and costs €70 in AcuWell Clinic in Ranelagh and €65 in AcuWell Clinic in Athlone.

There is an OAP and student rate is €60 for an initial treatment and €55 for follow-up treatments in both clinics.

There is a discount of €5.00 on one treatment when you refer someone!

Fertility & Pregnancy Acupuncture

An initial treatment, which includes a consultation, lasts approx. 1 hour and costs €75 in AcuWell Clinic in Ranelagh and €70 in AcuWell Clinic in Athlone. A follow-up acupuncture treatment lasts approx. 45 minutes and costs €70 in AcuWell Clinic in Ranelagh and €65 in AcuWell Clinic in Athlone.

Fertility acupuncture includes the provision of Fact Sheets from fertility expert, Zita West, which cover dietary and nutrition advice, lifestyle advice, preparation for IVF, advice on trying to conceive naturally, and advice during early pregnancy. In addition to this, dietary advice is provided in terms of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which offers a different view of the human body and of food. Other helpful resources and information are also provided and fertility questionnaires will be sent to the patient or couple for completion before the initial treatment.

Acupuncture Pre-IVF and Post-IVF (Embryo-Transfer)

Saturday and Sunday appointments, as well as mid-week appointments, for IVF pre-transfer and post-transfer are available in AcuWell Clinic in Ranelagh. Booking in advance is required.

Patients attending AcuWell Clinic in Athlone may be referred on or given recommended contacts.

The treatment consists of two treatments which are usually given on the day of the embryo transfer. Each treatment lasts approx. 35 – 40 minutes. There is a single charge for both treatments of €135. If having one treatment only, the cost is €70.

Quit Smoking

A pre-paid package to support quiting smoking is available at a cost of €275 (save €10). This includes four (4) treatments, lasting approx. 1 hour, and advice sheets for before the first treatment and for during and after the remaining three treatments. Alternatively, the same four treatments, lasting approx. 1 hour, and advice sheets can be provided at a cost of €75 for an initial treatment and €70 for the subsequent three treatments. The initial consultation will include a consultation.

Abdominal Acupuncture

An initial treatment, which includes a consultation, lasts approx. 1 hour and costs €75. A follow-up abdominal acupuncture treatment, which lasts approx. 45 minutes to 1 hour, costs €70 in AcuWell Clinic in Ranelagh and €65 in AcuWell Clinic in Athlone.

Tui Na

An initial treatment costs €75 and includes a consultation. The duration will depend on the condition being treated. The cost and duration of a follow-up Tui Na treatment also depends on the condition being treated. Generally, Tui Na follow-up treatments last between 30 minutes and 45 minutes and cost between €65 and €70.

Acupuncture & Tui Na combined

An initial treatment, following a consultation, lasts between 1 hour and 1.5 hours and costs between €70 and €120, depending on the condition being treated. The cost and duration of follow-up combined acupuncture and Tui Na treatments last approx. 1 hour and cost between €70 and €120, depending on the condition being treated.

Cupping

A cupping treatment on its own, following a consultation, lasts between 30 minutes and 45 minutes and costs between €65 and €75. There is no additional charge for moxibustion (moxa), cupping or auricular acupuncture when used in conjunction with acupuncture, fertility acupuncture and abdominal acupuncture.
